Strengthening Tax Awareness and Compliance for Businesses
On August 15, 2025, YRABSC conducted a re-echo session on “What to Expect on BIR Tax Mapping / Tax Compliance Verification Drive (TCVD),” based on updates provided by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). The session was attended by the Makati and Lucena Teams of YRABSC.
The discussion aimed to raise awareness among businesses and professionals regarding BIR’s Tax Mapping / TCVD, a regulatory initiative designed to ensure proper compliance with tax obligations and business registration requirements.
Key Discussion Points
1. Understanding BIR Tax Mapping
Tax mapping, also known as the Tax Compliance Verification Drive (TCVD), is a routine inspection conducted by BIR officers to verify if businesses are:
Properly registered with the BIR
Issuing official receipts or invoices
Displaying the required BIR notices (such as registration forms and annual registration fee proof)
Using registered cash registers or POS machines
Remitting the correct taxes on time
2. Importance of Compliance
Businesses found non-compliant during tax mapping may face fines, penalties, or closure orders. The session emphasized the importance of proactive compliance to avoid disruptions and protect business credibility.
3. Preparing for TCVD
Participants were reminded that proper recordkeeping, timely filing of tax returns, and ensuring valid BIR registration documents are essential. By preparing in advance, businesses can handle inspections smoothly and confidently.
Moving Forward
The re-echo session provided valuable insights to help YRABSC’s teams guide clients in upholding compliance with BIR regulations. By staying informed and prepared, businesses can avoid costly penalties and foster stronger trust with regulators.
